Q. What does FPL consider peak hours for electricity usage for those paying Time Of Use rates?
FPL’s peak rates are different depending on the time of year:
- From Nov. 1 – March 31, the peak or “on-peak” times are Monday through Friday from 6AM-10AM in the morning, and also 6PM to 10PM in the evening. Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day are excluded from these dates.
- From April 1 – Oct. 31, the peak times are Monday through Friday from noon to 9PM. Memorial Day, Independence Day/4th of July, and Labor Day are excluded.
So, obviously the off-peak times would be any time that does not fall into the time ranges above. If you are on the Time Of Use plan, you’ll want to use most of your electricity during off-peak hours.
