Q. Are people from Italy or of Italian descent considered white?
While being “white” is actually not a term with a technical definition, it would be rare to find Italians included in a race other than white / Caucasian.
The U.S. Census actually identifies Italians as an ethnicity considered to be “white”: “White. A person having origins in any of the original peoples of Europe, the Middle East, or North Africa. It includes people who indicate their race as ‘White’ or report entries such as Irish, German, Italian, Lebanese, Arab, Moroccan, or Caucasian.”
