Can married women get WIC?

Q. If I’m married, can I still qualify for WIC?

Adam answers:

WIC is not just for unmarried women and their babies. WIC is for women (pregnant or nursing), babies, and small children (under 5) who need to meet certain nutritional requirements and have low income, regardless of their marital status. Being married does not necessarily disqualify you; the family’s income as well as the “nutritional risk” are the main factors in deciding who is eligible.

To see if you and your child or children may be eligible for WIC, go here to see the income guidelines and here for other requirements that must be met.
